Ice Maker Not Working
No ice production, or very little ice
About This Problem
Ice maker problems are very common and can have several causes. Most are related to water supply issues.
Possible Causes
- Ice maker turned off (arm in up position or switch off)
- Water supply line frozen or kinked
- Clogged water filter reducing water flow
- Faulty water inlet valve
- Freezer temperature too warm (should be 0°F)
- Ice maker module failure
- Water line not connected or turned off
Things to Try First
- 1Check that ice maker is turned on (arm down, or switch in ON position)
- 2Verify water supply valve behind refrigerator is open
- 3Replace water filter if it's been more than 6 months
- 4Check freezer temperature - set to 0°F or below
- 5Inspect water supply line for kinks
- 6Clear any ice blockages in the ice chute
