Sub-Zero refrigeration in Arlington
Arlington is dense — two-families and Colonials off Massachusetts Avenue, with hillside streets climbing toward the Heights. Kitchens are compact and often reworked into a rear ell, which makes clearance around a built-in the first thing worth measuring.
Two-families and reworked rear ells, mostly, with kitchens that gained a built-in during a renovation rather than being designed around one. The recurring problem here is access: a full-height column that has to come out on its rails needs floor in front of it, and in a compact Arlington kitchen that floor is often occupied by an island. We work out the extraction route on the phone rather than discovering it on the doorstep.

What we get called out for in Arlington
- Sub-Zero Refrigerator Repair Built-in Sub-Zero refrigerators of the kind fitted into kitchens across Wellesley and the inner suburbs, from panelled columns to integrated under-counter drawers. Work covers dual-refrigeration systems, evaporator and condenser faults, control boards, door alignment and the drain and gasket problems that show up first. Interior lights on but the compartment slowly warming
- Sub-Zero Freezer Repair Freezer columns and drawers, including the paired column installations common in larger kitchens west of Boston. Defrost heaters, thermistors, blocked drains and tired gaskets account for most of what we find, and the sealed system is checked before anything is replaced. Auto-defrost leaving a sheet of ice on the drawer floor
- Sub-Zero Ice Maker Repair In-freezer ice modules and stand-alone clear ice machines, including units plumbed into older houses with long, cold supply runs. Typical causes are fill valves, water lines, moulds, ejector assemblies and filters that were changed without being purged. Cubes fusing into one block in the bin
- Sub-Zero Wine Cooler Repair Wine storage units in dining rooms, pantries and finished basements, where a few degrees of drift matters and noise carries. We diagnose zones that will not hold apart, failing fans and compressors, humidity and condensation faults, and seals that have gone hard. Zone temperatures converging on one another

Stand-alone unit in the pantry stopped producing entirely. The drain pump had failed and water was sitting in the sump. He replaced it and cleaned out the reservoir, which frankly needed doing.

Ice tasted of whatever sat open on the shelf below it. A cracked bin gasket and a very tired filter. Both replaced, the first batches thrown out, and he wiped the whole compartment down before leaving.

Steady warm air was coming off the freezer gasket and I could feel it with the back of my hand. He showed me the torch test through the closed seal before quoting anything at all. New seal, door realigned on its hinges, and the frost has not come back.
